She is entirely crocheted – no embroidery here!

Her body is worked upwards from her feet to her head and the design includes special stitches for her nose and eyes (though small black safety eyes could be used if you prefer). Her skirt is worked onto the finished body and her arms, hair and cap are made separately + sewn on. Her apron can either be placed on, or sewn to, her body.

Mine is named Edith after Edith Cavell, a British nurse who helped soldiers escape German-occupied Belgium in World War I.
